Covid 19 response: we are offering online, phone and socially distanced consultations currently
We share a building with the Helios Medical Centre, an NHS GP Surgery which offers holistic healthcare and has a beautiful garden. There is free parking and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Please note that we are not part of the GP practice
When you arrive for your appointment (whilst social distancing is in place), please cover your nose and mouth with a mask. Do not go to the main entrance, go to the smaller entrance to the left of the building. It is level with the car park. Ring the buzzer and you will be let in. Please wait here, sanitise you hands and sign in the Visitors' Book. I will come and collect you from the small waiting area. I plan to run on time. When settled in the room, socially distanced, we can remove our masks.
Appointments are more limited at present. Whilst we try to be flexible, they are usually on a Thursday with only a few after school and work slots.
We hold regular clinics at the Helios Medical Centre in North Bristol. We also offer some remote, online or phone appointments, more so during times when social distancing is needed.
Initial appointments are for around 1 hour with subsequent appointments lasting around 45 minutes.
It is up to you who attends the appointments; some parents like to attend alone first to explain the situation privately, others come with their child, and young people may prefer to come alone. It is common to spend some of the session talking together and some separately.
Together we will aim to understand the situation that has brought you and find ways to relieve your distress.
We are in Bristol in a suburb north of the Centre, with good access from the M4, A4 and M5.
17 Stoke Hill is set back from the road. There is a driveway with pillars, a sign to the Helios Medical Practice/GP Surgery on one pillar (shown) and a large no. 17 on the other.
We now offer more remote appointments than before the pandemic. They are usually video or audio calls on Zoom or can be phone calls if there is poor internet reception.
There are pros and cons to these, varying between people. It is our preference to always meet and have initial appointments in person when possible. However, we have been pleased with the positive feedback received from previous and new clients who have been seen online.
